Troubleshooting: schematics

When a schematic won't search or cross-probe, it is usually the PDF itself or a name spelt differently.

"This PDF has no text layer, so names in it cannot be found or cross-probed"

The PDF is a scan. The pages display, but there are no names to find. Look for a text version of the schematic.

Clicking a part on the board doesn't find it on the schematic

The two files may spell the name differently. The schematic's status line offers Link to with the nearest names; pick the right one (Schematics).

"Not matched to a board" on a schematic

Press Use with and the board number to file it under the board in hand.
